Source: www.wikipedia.org - calculated based on # articles per language category; Colorado State University Wikipedia Accuracy Study; open debate and of course very biased information is also found on this Wikipedia Accuracy page. If I had to do it again I would have made this say as accurate rather than more – obviously some articles will be more accurate (think of the realtime update of Michael Jackson’s death, but also some will be less accurate.

Not that that matters much if your philosophy can be reduced to: glorify form at the expense of function!! Great post!
Thanks Martin – if you have both form and function it’s a great combo!

I just came across this post and have been reading along. I was thinking I would drop my 1st comment given it truly caught my interest. I’ll drop back again regularly to look for fresh articles.
wow, a few mind blowing stats there!!
Keep all the articles coming. I really love checking out your articles. Many thanks.
I fully believe these stats (especially the ones about LinkedIn and job searches) and think that social media will continue to grow. I’ve just started a new job doing marketing and SEO for a professional services firm. I believe that my social media culture blog (maggiecakes.wordpress.com) and its link off my LinkedIn profile had a lot to do with my getting the position. LinkedIn also helped me to learn about the hiring manager and gave me a leg up in the interview.
To tell the truth, the blog post is certainly the freshest on this deserving field. I agree with your findings and will eagerly expect your approaching updates. Saying tnx will never just be adequate, for the amazing clearness in your article. I will straight away grab your feed to keep well informed of any updates. Superior work and much success in your business endeavors.. All the best, ..
I love this video. I would like to download the video, but cannot connect to this site at work. I would like to show this to the IGIC GIS Response Corps. The Corps is a volunteer GIS committee that provides mapping support during emergencies. We will be discussing the importance of social media during emergency events. Our GIS website is at the link above.

Hi, I was just wondering if these facts are presented in your book..I want to use the statistics for a paper, and would feel more comfortable citing a book than a blog. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks =)
Nice stuff, but that TM on Socialnomics is not really in line with what you “preach”, is it???
Ah…”Did You Know” is accessible from the thumbnail crawl at the end of Socialnomics. But the link from your text goes to “user removed” page.
Taylor:
Thanks for the heads up!
Here is the link to the “Did You Know” video if you want to watch it:
Erik, “Did You Know” has been “removed by user” at YouTube.
1 in 8 couples really met through social media? That’s huge but I wonder how they got that metric – was it on Facebook like as in they met the person through a friend of a friend at a party and then talked more through facebook or was it that they actually met on the social network?
