It appears Facebookers love their sweets and caffeinated beverages. Five of the top ten brands on Facebook are Starbucks, Coca-Cola, Oreo, Skittles and Red Bull.
That means 50% of the top ten brands on Facebook are food and beverage. The other half include Facebook itself at number one, YouTube at number three, Victoria’s Secret at number eight, Disney at number nine, and iTunes at number ten. It would have been nice to see perhaps Barnes & Noble, or UNICEF make the cut, perhaps in time they will. Do you agree?
This other infographic from wearesocial.net is a little outdated, but it is helpful as well. You will notice this infographic does not include Facebook, Youtube, iTunes or Disney in their statistics. Instead, they include Pringles, Starburst, Ferrero Rocher and Dr. Pepper helping give a bigger picture of other brands that are having success attracting fans.
It’s important to note that quality is still better than quantity. Meaning 100,000 engaged fans are better than 1 million unengaged ones.
